Trip to India...and stuff...

Back from what has been an excellent visit to my home country...loads of fun, food and frolic. Met all my friends...with the exception of Shirish...and had a great time in Pune as well..thanks to Sue! Parents and Relatives got a dose of me as well...and as soon as it had begun it seemed to have ended. But then that is the nature of time when one is enjoying oneself or one is busy...for eg., I did not realize how quickly the last semester passed away...It seems like yesterday that I first set foot in the US and I already gearing up to start the spring semester!!

Read a lot back home...so I am really happy...managed 5 books in three weeks...now that is the speed that I know of...not the slow one/two books a month that I have become accustomed to here...Presently, parallely reading three series'. There is the Dark tower series by King, which happens to have been in the reading for the past 1.5 years, majorly because of the lack of availability of his books; then comes the Malloren, 5 book series by David Eddings - an under-rated FF author in my opinion - of which two have been devoured on the trip to India, the other three await my arrival; finally there is the Ramayana series by Ashok Banker - excellent in narration and handling, again I have devoured two and I feel I shall finish this series first before moving on. Banker is a brilliant writer and he handles the story extremely well. I believe that anyone interested in reading should pick up this series - not only those interested in mythology, for the series can be looked upon in a multitude of ways. One can see it in a religious light, wherein it becomes mythology, or one can see it as an extremely well written piece of work, and read it just for the way it is written...the story is one that is known to many...so that is not something that you look out for..however he does mention some issues which I havent heard of...hence now looking for the Sanskrit version by Valmiki...

Apart from that life is pretty much regularized now...so not much to write about...maybe inspiration has wandered away on its path away from the mind and laziness has as usual walked back in...I am hence compelled to take leave and hope that I shall be back soon to colour these pages with the plethora of words that this brain manages to regurgitate...

Alvida!

Anush.
